About Outatime Media

Established in 2002, Outatime Media is the brainchild of Simon Hoggarth who has spent over 20 years building up a reputation as an innovative digital media freelancer based in Northamptonshire supporting clients and helping deliver their digital media needs across the UK.

If you are wondering where the name Outatime Media came from, the inspiration came from Simon’s favourite movie which is Back to the Future. In the film the Delorean car that is driven by Marty McFly and Doc Brown has the numberplate ‘Outatime’.

Meet Simon

Hi, I’m Simon and I am passionate about working in all types of media.

I built my first website when I was only 13 way back in 2002, and from there I was keen to learn and develop my skills to create clean, fresh, exciting and eye-catching designs that are also accessible and contains good SEO for various different clients. I am familiar with a number of different CMS platforms including WordPress, Blogger, dotCMS, Drupal, Joomla, Sellerdeck, Wix, WooCommerce and also standard HTML.

I’ve gained certificates Adobe Creative Cloud, HTML5 and CSS3 to go alongside my BA Media Production degree gained from the University of Northampton in 2010.

As well as website design, these courses also covered radio production, photography, graphic design and making films – all things that I’ve ended up loving! With film-making, although I enjoy being behind (and occasionally in front of) the camera, my skills lie in the editing aspect of the productions I have been involved with. Using my experience with programs such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro, I am able to create suitable, engaging and interesting films on a wide range of subjects. Many of these films you can see on the portfolio section of this website.

I love photography and have picked up skills from watching my mum who was a photographer from a young age. I love documenting places that I visit, looking for unusual angles and in particular taking photos of nature. I know how to use various types of camera equipment and editing programs and you can see examples of my photos within the portfolio.

Since 2018, I have been a volunteer at NLive Radio, a local community based radio station in Northampton where I host a weekly 2 hour radio show on Monday evenings called ‘Simon Selects’. You can find out more about the show on the radio page. Alongside that, I also look after the station’s website, cover other shows, help out at outdoor events and take part in live broadcasts as well as assisting with organising the music library.

On the side, I also love writing and acting and have been in local am-dram productions either on stage or working behind the scenes.
The notepad I keep beside my bed is crammed full of ideas of new stories to tell. I always find I come up with the best ideas in the middle of night, so it’s handy to have something to scribble the mad ideas down so I don’t forget them. Some of these I have turned into short films or drama sketches that have been performed (by myself and others) to an audience.

I have worked with young people at various different youth clubs or social activities for children of all ages which has included organising (along with a team of helpers) a series of extremely successful youth away weekends involving young people from 7 different churches coming together to have fun.

For several Christmases I was given the opportunity to play the role of Santa Claus inside a local shopping centre. Helping to entertain over 2700 children from all kinds of backgrounds was certainly a very rewarding and magical experience I’ll never forget. There’s so many funny anecdotes and stories to tell I could write a book!

All of the above has been achieved because I have the skills, the confidence, and determination to pull them off, and people have put their trust in me to gain results.

Take a look around my work, and feel free to contact me if you’d like work with me and bring your ideas to reality! E-mail me at simon@simonhoggarth.co.uk.
